One of the best things about Singapore is that you can swim all year round. Not that this means that I am swimming every day, but I like that I have the option.
I used to swim a lot a few years back. But I look back at it now and realise that I was swimming obsessively, with a crazy fire in my head to lose weight and tone my arms and flatten my back fat.
Now, I swim deliberately. Sometimes on my back, real slow. Sometimes fast, just to feel like my lungs are going to explode. I love looking at the world, heavily blurred by my severe myopia, from the shaded cool and quiet of the pool. I look at people and the trees and the sky but I don’t really see anything. Just blurry forms moving and being, forming what I think is the world around me.
